Rahul Walia, a thoroughbred media professional at work and a South Asian American at heart, is a cornerstone figure in the South Asian advertising industry in America. Credited with launching several media institutions, he currently runs Touchdown Media Inc., a leading advertising agency with a healthy roster of clients that have achieved great success by targeting the South Asian community.
Walia made this foray into the South Asian media community in 1998 by helping Post Media Group build strong brand equity and a formidable editorial backbone for the India Post paper. Over the next 5 years he helped launch Eastern Broadcasting Corporation (EBC Radio), the Indian Express NA Edition and Mantram magazine, apart from helming WCNJ 89.3 FM and establishing it as a strong brand in the community.
Always proactive and at the fore of media affairs, Walia founded Touchdown Media in 2003 to help mainstream companies reach out to the lucrative South Asian market. It have been his and Touchdown’s constant endeavor to deliver South Asian advertising with mainstream quality ever since. Touchdown Media’s expanding clientele that includes Western Union, Dish Network, DCH Auto Group, Econnergy, Yashraj Films, and such others stands testimony to Touchdown Media’s indomitable presence in South Asian advertising.
